Headquartered in Uppsala, Sweden, Q-linea was established within a leading academic research environment, with early development centred on advanced molecular technologies for biosecurity systems, commissioned by the Swedish Armed Forces, French MoD, and the EU.

Building on this scientific foundation, the company shifted its focus toward clinical microbiology, aiming to address critical unmet needs in routine diagnostic workflows.

Addressing a Critical Diagnostic Gap

Advances in rapid pathogen identification have significantly reduced the time to organism detection; however, the availability of corresponding antimicrobial susceptibility results has remained a major bottleneck in clinical decision-making.

Q-linea has focused on addressing this gap through the development of rapid phenotypic AST solutions designed to deliver timely and clinically actionable results.

This led to the creation of our most sophisticated system to date – ASTar.
