ASTar is a fully automated, rapid phenotypic antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) system built on the gold standard broth microdilution method. It serves as a complete microbiology laboratory within a single benchtop instrument and two consumables, minimising laboratory footprint.

All testing on a single disc
A single ASTar disc tests across a comprehensive range of antimicrobials, antimicrobial dilutions, and pathogens, eliminating the amount of prep work needed and reducing the likelihood of repeat testing.
The disc is designed to facilitate future panel expansion with new antimicrobials.
Controlled Inoculum
The system utilises a controlled inoculum to guarantee standardised sample dilution and reporting of truly accurate Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values and SIR characterisation.
